Even better ways to attract new salon clients

Review Your Salon Client Attraction Plan 

Stop for a second and ask yourself if you are marketing salon properly. If the answer is no to any of those points below, then you know for certain that you need a better salon marketing plan. 

  1. My salon sales are driven by price competition mostly
  2. I offer same service and product then the salon next door, customers can/t really tell the difference.
  3. I don’t really have a plan in my salon to pass my message to my customers.
  4. Longtime customers say “I did not know you offered that”
  5. I still don’t have, or never used, customer or prospects database. 

If you are nodding your head to any of the above, then it’s time to change your salon marketing actions. 

Review your unique selling point, what’s so unique about your salon? And even if it feels like salon is a salon, well you can change it overnight. One of our clients, Grace, has increased her weekly takings by £800 by simply renaming salon tag line, and re-creating different perceptions in the eyes of customers, suddenly she went from average to different. And you can do the same. So spend some time brainstorming some ideas, it will be the time well invested.

Think how you can spread your salon message to customers. It can be as simple as “did you know we are specialists in hair re-design, we don’t just cut hair, we are designers”. Find the way to make your message obvious. 

Do your customers know everything you offer? Is your staff trained to recommend new products without sounding desperate salespeople? Have you spend time training how to focus on product or service BENEFITS? Start doing it right now and watch what happens. 

There is no excuse for not having a database of leads or customers. Start collecting data asap, your salon marketing plan must tie into building a database of prospects, and customers, well utilized database is one strategy that will pay your bills, wages, dividends, and will also save you stack of cash in the future. So invest your time, and calculated cash to build one, or if you have one, think of the ways how to make the most of it.
