Hi Alan, well its been 2 weeks since I opened my salon, and wow. I'm flat out, i kind of expected to be really quiet for the first week or so but I didn't sit down or eat food for 2 weeks. I put on an apprentice and a receptionist as I cant keep up and am about to put on another full time hairdresser. Your stuff really works and I'm so thankful!!! Let me tell you we just followed one of your techniques and the phone was ringing off the hook in less than an hour of the first flyer going through local letterboxes, we put out around 200 leaflets in a couple of hours, the response booked out all the spare slots in the stylists columns for the next two weeks!!!!

We have just embarked on a joint venture with a boutique's staff and again the phone is going crazy. Alan you have restored our faith in the business and saved us from insanity. Solving The Salon Sucking Problem of Missing Clients is EASY!

First the email asking for help above said this...

If you are losing stacks of client annually ... admit it... you are desperate!

But you DON'T have to sound desperate to get them back.

So ok, the cards are a great idea. It works big time. In fact so big I increased my salon business SIXTY PERCENT!

Here's what you do.

1. Get the names and addresses of your missing clients together on a sheet (excell or computer printout if you have one.)

2. Load the missing client details up to an website that send outs cards for a fee like http://www.bluemountain.com

3. Write your "get em back in" message from you or your salon.

Pay the low fee...  then hit send.

NOW... here's the trick you should know.

What do you write?

Frankly time to get honest here.

You would say something like ...

We Miss You In Our Salon!

It's John from Punk Salon. I noticed you hadn't been in to our salon for at least 6 months.

As a business owner that worries me. Why?

Two reasons.

First I am worried we didn't do a great job last time. If that's the case I'd love to put it right. Will you let me personally know?

Vicky raises an interesting point. The answer is very, very simple.

Some of you will be thinking about the costs of doing mailings. Before I answer let me answers Vicky's question.

The answer is: ... Keep mailing them until the client says to you DON'T! It really is that simple.

I have mailed clients that have been missing for 2 years and they have eventually came in on the offer saying things like... "I have been meaning to come in but simply haven't had the time"

Don't stop mailing!

COSTS?

Look if you get a handful of clients coming in from each mailing DON'T WORRY ABOUT the ones that don't come in, focus on the clients that do come in. That's where the cash is.

Here's an interesting fact for you.

On average ... just one person will respond out of 200 mailings!

However ...

Because you have and them into your salon in the past ... that number will rise especially if you make them an offer they cannot refuse... like FREE hair of beauty services.

Again...
